  1. Facebook application itself sucks. Between farming and mafia wars and the alleged news "above" (which is always wrong - is that configurable somehow) and? Various privacy settings and disrupt the ad (with all data about me, the best seems to do is to promote dating sites, because, uh, I'm single) and thousands of bad applications, Facebook is almost entirely useless to me now. Yes, I could probably adjust better, but the navigation is ridiculous, so I'm not bothered. (And, yet, somehow, I can not even change colors or apply a theme or do anything to make my personal page visible.) Let's not even go into how many pages you feed it slowly. Basically, at this point, Facebook is more annoying than anything.
  2. Facebook does not (really) support the Open Web. Open Graph API so clearly named as a fundamental closed. It's bad enough that the idea here is that we all pitch and make it easier than ever to help Facebook gather further data about you. It's bad enough that most consumers do not know that this data is basically public. It's bad enough that they claim to have this data, and aims to be the one to access this resource. But then they were honest enough to call it "open," when in fact, is a wholly owned to Facebook. You can not use this feature unless you are on Facebook. Implementation of truly open will work with social networks in which we prefer, and it will look like OpenLike. Likewise, they just simply implementing OpenID support their claim that, while aggressively promote exclusive alternatives, Facebook Connect.
